Graphic novels/comics for girl? NO manga?

My friends keep frustrating to get me to read more graphic novels and comics, so I would like some recommendations. The only one I've ever read and loved is V For Vendetta.


Promethea. It's by Alan Moore (who wrote Watchmen). It's about this demoiselle who becomes a god and it's based around literature.
